Seen people using pva mesh with chod rigs on weedy water
Wouldnt it be better spombing and not using pva . In case of the pva holding it down on the weeds and stoping the hookbait from poping up

Ive never seen that done, kind of goes against the whole point of a chod rig, chods are best fished over scatterings of boilies. If you have a high pop up on a chod or a hinge with a pile of pellets below it, it looks pretty ridiculous, although im sure it would and does catch fish. Also if you can cast out a chod with a pva bag attached without the chod section dislodging the bead and flying up the line i dont think it would be safe!

IMHO You do not want to be casting anything out on a chod, except the hookbait.
Any free offerings should be boilies, catapulted out a fair distance between each one, in/around the vicinity of the hookbait, the whole idea is to make the carp move for each SINGLE bait, dip and move on.
Makes them work for it, and easier to catch.
PVA bags of small items are on the bottom, diverting the carps attention away from the pop up.

Ok because i thougtht you only use a chod if its really weedy i was guna spomb the drop the chod rig. This lake doesnt get fished its an estate lake and insanely weedy and big so thought spombing out theb dropa chod

Chods are great in low lying weed and over heavy detritus. In my opinion, they are far from great if treated like a chuck anywhere phenomenon.
Loads used them to no effect on my syndi this year... “I can't find any spots so I'm fishing chods” was a regularly heard phrase. People were fishing them in 7ft of water & 6ft of thick canadian thinking they were presented, when essentially they're fishing little stiff zigs a foot from the surface.

A bit offtopic...and my view on this, I have been fishing chods for probably 90% of my fishing this year, on lakes with any weed at all..
Baitingwise is indeed a handfull of boillies, spreaded widely. I fish them sliding over leadcore with the topbead at the end of the leadcore, so sliding all the way over the leadcore. Had a very good year, and on several venue's. I try to fish them as low as possible, my case 3-4cm of the deck, on the lightest lead I can get away with.. Allot of anglers use it as a blanksaver, for the last hour , but hardly give them a chance for a longer period. I have complete confidence in this way of fishing. Always fishing well, never tangled, no big impact of a lead hitting the water, and hard to eject once picked up (I can tell by the takes they have trouble dealing with it, most times the bobbin moves up and down, before it rattles off)

I agree, ive found it much more effective sliding along 4ft of leadcore rather than fixed between 2 beads. Seems they cant find an anchor to shake the hook out.
Its fallen out of favour a bit with the ronnie rig being cast out into every puddle this side of the arctic circle.

This tactic works well when they're cruising around in hot weather above the weed though. I've fished chods 5ft up the leader over 3/4ft of weed twice on a social to the same lake and had 5 pick ups each time. But they were all over the shallower bay and it was 25c+. A handful of boilies spread over the weedbed and it was easy pickings. Time and a place for it though!
