I'm contemplating buying a large van and transforming it into a camper van of sorts.

Has anyone done this before and if they did what was the criteria (if any) when it came to notifying (or not) to the dvla regarding the change from van to campervan/motorhome?

Was there much difference in insurance costs from van to campervan/motorhome?
