I read an article recently that said tench and bream do actually eat tigers as they cannot crush them!

If you meant to say that they don't eat them, this is nonsense. I've had loads of tench especially on tigers

On the Simon Scott Korda podcast he talks about it, think saying they can't crush the nut so don't eat it. Not to say they wouldn't have a go trying though

We used to use a lot of tigers on large waters chasing carp.
Boating baits out we would regularly see mainly bream and sometimes trench following carp, we came to the conclusion they were feeding on the crushed tiger nut excrement from the carp and that's what was causing their interest in our hook baits.
I'm not convinced a trench or a bream could actually eat a whole tiger, but the above is all I've got

I know certain stretches of the river lot where i have baited tigers in the margins bream chub and barbel clear the spots completely very quickly leaving just the stack of tigers that was there as the hookbait, on another french water we have seen tench clearing up tigers on shallow plateaus and caught quite a few!

Had multiple bream and tench on tigers, and that's fishing only tigers/boilie as loose feed.

Had many bream on it as well but in general would say that they select the fish more and would go to a point that many time if baiting with different baits when I caught bream on tiger meant there is not much other food left... unless you put some heavy glugged tiger on... especially in mollases they just love it.

I was talking about loose feed not the hookbait, I've had 100s of tench on them ,but it was simon scott who said that they could'nt chew them so spat them out

Sorry to hijack the thread... but have people experienced catfish eating tigers?
I'm not a fan of the moggies, and trying (unsuccessfully so far) to find a decent carp bait they aren't keen on...

Yes they may not be there preferred choice but we have caught cats on tigers, whether that is by accident ie they are just scooping a big mouth full of bait up and the tigers were there or they were targeting them i don't know

Think they will have a jolly good try, I did add some to my particle mix at times this season to hopefully last until the Carp fed.

Nothing is cat proof. Particles are your best bet, you will mostly avoid the cats but not entirely
