What's the best way to boil larger quantities of boilies? I am currently using a large pan but it can only put small quantities in as it comes of the boil if I put to much in, so it's quite a slow process. Is it worth getting larger pan/pot then a camp stove, or is there something else to consider?

Burco boiler is the easiest.

Only got rid of mine because I've got a 5kw wok burner in the kitchen, which means i can use a really big stock pot - i can do about 2kg at a time in it

I have been rolling 2kg of baste at a time, but I can roll it quicker than I can cook it so I wouldn't want to do much more than that at the moment as I spend most of my time on the boiling part. So what I am doing at the moment is getting the paste ready, bringing the water up to the boil then start rolling and cooking at the same time.

Also do people try to keep a rolling boil in the pan or is a lower simmer just as good. I currently use have the water bubbling away like mad

just bring it to boil, chuck 0,5kg in and after 2min take it out... they will be more than fine... that is less than 10min of work for 2kg paste

I used to use a Burco but they are do not hold a boil that well when you add a few kg at a time. Fine for particles but no good for repeatable boilies.

Now I do smaller mixes of 2-3kg at a time I use one of these link It is very basic and cheap (any thinner and the metal would be tin foil) but holds the boil well. I make 2-3kg of paste, let it stand for 10-20 minutes in a sealed bag (and clean up the mess I have made), then I roll 1/2kg, boil it up, roll the next 1/2kg and so on.

I did try a 15l stock put on a 4kw wok burner which was OK but not as good as the above fryer.

That looks like it would do the job, how much are you putting in?

Back in the days, I bought myself steamer. This allowed me to steam nearl 2 kg of bait at once. Depending on the size of the boilies, this took 8 to 12 min for 2kg

I have a double one of these things. Works a treat. 1/2 kg in each side
