How much freezer space, in litres, is required for 100k of boilies?

It depends on the configuration of any shelving etc buddy.
I can get 25kg in a 60l under counter freezer but I'm sure you'd get more than 100kg in a 240l chest freezer.

Ive got a chest freezer and 100Kg would fit in easily....

Be careful, though, i use to have 1 draw in the kitchen freezer which i could squeeze 10kg in...the missus got all stupid saying the boilies wouldt taint the food, so i bought a chest freezer and put it in the spare room...now this is the wife's back up freezer and i have just today been told, i better use my bait up as she will need the space as Xmas is coming up... What ever happened to the boilies tainting the food....

One major drawback that I've personally had. My bait chest freezer is in my shed. Youngest son went in there for something and turned off the wrong switch. Resulting in defrosted freezer. Luckily I'd been running it down so most of what I lost was frozen particle. I think if I was gonna store 100kg I'd like to have two smaller freezers with 50kg in each. That way there's a bit of back up.

My did get turned off earlier on this year...i bought a cap which you put over the switch on the socket

Search for switch safe or plug switch protector....

I also bought a Wireless freezer alarm where you set the min and max temps....

It seems to have done the trick...but 100kg of bait is a lot to lose.....

Same as
I had a little 40cm chest freezer that held around 40kgs, then got a bigger 70cm wide one, I can still only fit 40kgs in there
I put an unswitched spur in place of the socket to avoid switch/plug accidents, the alarm is a good idea

Size you need depends on how you will stack your baits and whats size they are. You need less space for 100kg of 12 mm than for 100kg of 24mm.
If you stack them in bags, you also need more space.

My freezer is a box type freezee without shelves of 250 liters. There 100k of 16mm fits easily.

It varies on a few things but basically, 1 litre will fit in a 10 x 10 x 10 CM square which is equal to 1000 cubic centimetres, but that usually only applies to water which equals 1kg = 1 litre.

So based on that, get a one or two litre jug or even bigger which is best for a good sampling average fill it with your bait, weigh how much bait you was able to fill the jug with, then do the maths. Filling a jug ten times and weighing the total would give you a better sampling average.

IE, if only half a kilo of bait fitted in the 1 litre jug, then therefore you would need a freezer with 200 litre capacity to fit 100 kg of bait.

But then you have to take into account, how much you can ram in using your hands, then a foot or two to ram them in and they would probably fit into a smaller space.

Great advice. Damage limitation.

I lost 50 kilos of boilies when my chest freezer died.
Would hate to lose 100kg to a freezer dying.

The alarm was only 15 quids on eBay..and you get 2 wireless sensors, so i have both in the freezer in case 1 fails....

I'm not convinced they provide accurate temp readings but the alarm works when they get warmer....

I set my freezer at the normal temp then left the sensors in for 24 hrs and then set the alarm temp 5 degrees above the reading...i have took them out a few times to check they work and the alarm was singing like Bertie smalls
Are you sure?
