Hi gents
What are the best aftermarket replacement drag washers for a Shimano Ultegra 14000 Ci4 pls from your experience? Mine are starting to stick, looks straightforward to replace myself. What is the best product to clean out any grease in the spool when changing?

I found the ice washers from future fishing were good . when I fitted the washers I just wiped the grease out of the spool and of the metal washers and was fine

Future Fishing ice washers are what you need, much better than all the others.

I went for ROYS Carbontex Washers. I've got nothing to compare them to but they were well priced and do the job.

My reels are not Ultegra's

Future Fishing ice washers work well in my Shimano Ultegra reels.

I recently replaced mine after having a rod pulled in when one stuck

There's a member on here that sells Teflon washers on eBay, I replaced them with a set of those and also changed the spool caps for the non baitrunner ones, they are much better now

Also ordered some ICE washers for comparison.

I read the heading and thought 'feck me, ridgemonkey at it again with a machine to wash the reels' really!

Gone for a set of Carbon washers from Future Fishing and fitted them today, testing by hand seems lovely but will wait to get something on the end of them to really judge them 👍

Changed mine for the ICE washers a month or so ago after having an experience similar to Chuffy below. Couldn't help feeling like a customer in Harry Enfield's shop "I Saw You Coming" when I opened the envelope that had cost me 30 quid to do 3 spools.

Hope I get the chance to see how they perform next weekend.

I bought some Teflon ones from ebay , cost £3.50 per spool for a 5000t if you replace all of them .Several years ago now I also bought some of those ones that roy sells on ebay , it was a while before I got round to fitting them and when I did it was a reals struggle to get all 5 in as they seemed to thick , I then sent the reels to garry at custom reels for a service and he told me that the spool washers wasn't proper carbon and made out of a conveyer belt type product . Im happy with the Teflon ones from ebay but if I was going to buy carbon ones it would be from a more reputable supplier than roys washers on ebay.
