If your using it with an outboard just mount it on that.

Same as me.
Just mount it on the motor.
Big cylinder between the propeller and the vertical bit that goes up to the handle.
I do it with a cable tie .
Works for me.
Sorry dont know how to attach a photo other wise I would.
Just remember to turn the unit of when you raise the propeller out of the water as it's not good for the transducer.

Learnt from that in the past. Cost me my transducer cable twice, which was kind of expensive. Cable ties cut the cable, or the cable got stuck between the engine and the transom. Water gets in and your unit is fried. I think that's why Minn Kota introduced Universal Sonar.
Why not use a simple transducer mount? Not that expensive and you can take it off easily in case you'll ever be using a different boat. Raptor sells cheap ones, Tite-Lok has very good ones and so do Scotty, MAD, Jaxon and Cabela's. Don't forget: if you ever want to sell this boat, it will have a better resale value if you did not glue/drill it or if it does not have some hideously outdated transducer attached to it.

I just made a mount out of an old adjustable bank stick which is kept in place on the transom by some pipe clips & can be removed at end of session.

Nearly the same as me but I made mine from copper tubing and used 15mm pipe clips

I had an old broken outboard so cut the top and bottom off it and used that, mounted the transducer and ran the cable inside the empty pole stops the prop on the motor catching it and especially helpful in France as coypu's love a bit of plastic cable dangling in the water, easy to take on and off with the engine mount bracket.
