Evening all

Just landed a week off work from Monday and hoping to do a 48/72 hr session. Looking for somewhere reasonably peaceful/scenic without too many rules (would be nice to have bbq). Goes without saying it would be good to catch a fish or two. Moon on a stick would be ideal.

I'm Middlesex based so will travel an hour or two. Just fancy somewhere new / a bit different. Hope that being early midweek nowhere will he too busy and take late bookings.

Any recommendations?

do not go on motorway bank heard people stopping on motorway coming down bank and taking your tackle do a search.

Cheers. Didn't realise how close it was to the M25. I'm looking for a peaceful few nights, so will give it a miss. Thorny weir / The Mets looks an option.

I'd happily pay for a lodge on a lake if I could find anywhere available. Pretty much the first time I've been off without kid since March! Can't wait to get out in the rain and forgot about 2020!

It has a recent Instagram account, actually some very nice fish in there/ coming out now. I thought it was full of battered old ex Drayton fish but some of them are crackers

Thorpe lea has an up to date fb page which the owner is pretty active on, I think a lot of the crap fish died when it had svc a few years back and it was restocked with some really nice fish in fact you rarely see one with bad mouth damage. Also I haven't heard of any thefts from there in a long time in fact it seemed really secure the times I've been, I only thing I don't like is too many swims so your literally just restricted to fishing straight out in front of you, but it's a very well run fishery in my opinion. But I'd choose thorney wier personally lol
