Hi, just wondered if anyone knew of a company that service Primus stoves, I`ve had my Himalaya for a few years now and thought it was time it had a decent clean?

The beauty of primus stoves is that they are a doddle to clean and maintain, have a look on you tube and you'll find full strip and clean guides

and if your EAR DEFENDERS you use with it
need replacing I was in Screwfix today and saw a guy buy a pair for under £3

Toby it has to be the worst stove on the planet for noise
these stoves were designed for people that travelled and would possibly have trouble buying gas I bought one and SOLD it without ever taking it fishing as at the time I worked at Heathrow airport next to running jet engines and the very last thing I wanted was a stove that sounds just like a running jet engine
this video shows just how frigging loud it is pretty well when he fires it up if you jump ahead to 2mins 30 seconds

I've had an omnifuel for 6+ years, never serviced it although I probably should now. Once you have a pot or kettle on the stove the noise drops considerably and if not you eventually get used to it, as does everyone else on the lake

I have used a multifuel and an omnifuel for years especially in the colder months, never had them serviced as they are simple enough to do yourself but when I need a new part like a pump I get them from "base Camp". I have a feeling they also service them but not sure.

Thanks chaps, I must be one of the lucky ones as I`ve never really noticed "the jet engine sound", to be totally honest I was just looking to get it done rather than it needs to be done if that makes sense

I'm in the same boat. It doesn't really need it but I should break it down and give it a full clean. I've ran petrol, diesel, gas and I think one time I tried kerosine, so its a smidge black and sooty.

The Tacklebox used to service stoves,give them a call see if they can help
I think my stove has slowly got worse since using a ridge monkey pan/toaster thing, no complaints regarding RM but the more I've used it the worse the stove now looks

Yeah they are really loud,you can buy a silencer for them Which come in at a massive 50 odd quid.
