Keeping my tried and trusty SS3000's after a long hard think,people I've spoke to with them and have used the newer shimano reels all seem to be in agreement the newer shimano stuff is not what it once was with poor customer service.People should not be spending loads of money and having to replace spool clickers it's shocking tbh on their part.Sticking with my Daiwa SS3000's the best looking carp fishing reel ever made,I also know in 10 years from now the SS3000's will still be going strong will these newer so called better reels 😎

I agree with the shimano comments, not what they used to be in my experience and you have to pick models fairly carefully. The daiwa iso is surely the next cult reel imo.. Well built and looks good, secondhand prices now are already more than they were new (not rrp) .
The power aero isn't much of a step up from the ultegra ci4 xtc, uses a lot of the same components and just one extra bearing if I remember correctly. I'd pick that over a power aero any day, lovely and smooth reels.
If you had to sell the ss3000s to buy something else it's a good decision to keep them though.

I don't need to sell mate I had a deal for some power aero today to pick up for £600 second hand but again I'm not happy giving money for a reel which will need spool clickers replaced it's not right at all...I for one enjoy listening to that spool and clutch clicking away when playing a fish on a misty morning 👏🏻

Had the original ISO's not much to them I swapped them for my SS's 7 years ago with spare spills coming my way etc,but I've started to like the ISO again recently I think it's because all new reels that are coming out are not great.
