So I have a titan AS which has been in storage for over 5 years. The shed it was in at some point has leaked and dropped over the titan causing the waterproofing to peel off, like I rub my hand on the inside and little balls of what I can only assume is the waterproofing membrane are on my hand, even after drying extensively.

I was my local tackle store yesterday and a top bloke there gave me the advice of silicone and white spirit mixed and then painted over the inside. I've now watched this on YouTube and seen good results just wondered what you all thought and if I would be better just using brush on fabsil?

I only want to reproof it so I can sell it on as it's far too heavy for me these days.

You only need to silicone the seams, not the entire bivvy. It sounds as though the tape has come away so the seams need sealing. A mix of clear silicone & white spirit is fine for this. Once that has been done & dried, you can give the entire bivvy a coating of Fabsil

It sounds like the material has de-laminated and the polly coating has gone and you may find it will be impossible to reproof

Yea the more I wipe with a damp sponge the more it peeled away. It's the seams plus the material, he did mention this should do the trick. There is a guy on YouTube who mixes it in a bottle then spreads it allover canvas and has good results.

Would a tin of fabsil be useless then? Never used the stuff.

Fabsil is really just a dwr for the outside.

Ah ok, I thought it might be, good to know then. Looks like I'll be chancing the silicone option then. I'll report back here when I get round to it.
