After a new pair of waterproof and breathable boots for the autumn/winter. Could anyone recommend any. The brashers would have been my choice but are getting mixed reviews of late
AKU Pilgrim. If you take your time you can get a second hand pair like new from eBay for around the £50 mark or if you're into a higher cut, get a pair of ITURRI boots.
The AKU's are amazing, like slippers. New they are a bit lumpy, but like the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Brashers have always been my go to boots , since being taken over by berghaus a few years ago I had one pair did,not last 3 months ! I now buy altberg , made in england superb quality come in half sizes , I bought 2 pairs 2 years ago and both pairs still in fabulous condition , I recommended them to a few people on pikers pit they bought them and they have been impressed and they are a bunch of tight buggers

I've used a pair of Jack Pyke hunter boots for about 7 years on and off. I've hiked up mountains in nz in them and used them extensively in winter and to walk out over ankle depth into my old syndicate to net fish.
They are on their last legs now as I'm an idiot and never treated the leather.

The leather lined brashers used to be superb when they were made in portugal but there now not a patch on what they used to be. I dont wear boots anymore though i wear salomon gortex fell running trainers, so much comfier. I would never go back to walking boots.

Get yourself a pair of Haix boots.
Good ankle support if walking or on dodgy river banks, they can be left unlaced when around the bivvy and to jump into from the sleeping bag.
You can get a goretex lined boot, or better still get the full leather that is also goretex lined. Its called the cold wet weather boot. Go up a size and also look for the wide fitting.
I got a pair of part used off ebay, a couple of minor scuffs but like new.
The best £30 i have ever spent

Lowa Zephyr GTX Mid boot in brown. Like wearing trainers straight out of the box. 👍🏻
