This is a question aimed at the end tackle.
Looking for some advice, (preferably a video demo, or photos - I learn visually) on how to use a marker and spod on one rod, and use it time efficiently. Someone mentioned to me about a loop to loop connection, although I can't quite understand how to achieve that.
I intend on using 50lb braid (got a spool of Whiplash and Kastking, will likely use Whiplash) with a 30lb shock leader (Amnesia).
Advice and help always appreciated.

The 50lb braid doesn't need a leader, and amnesia wouldn't be a good choice for a leader either imo.
As for the loop method, it's really simple, you just tie a large loop in the braid, big enough to pass a spod through comfortably. (I do around 4-6 inches)
Then to connect the spod, just poke the loop through the spod swivel, then put the spod through the loop and pull tight.
You can then unpick it and do the same with the marker float after threading your lead and bead on.

What makes Amnesia, in your a opinion, not a good leader? Has it not performed for you?

I've never even considered using it for a shock leader, the stiffness and diameter, meaning a very large knot make it unsuitable imo. If you really want a mono leader then look at tapered mono leaders, you may have to look in the sea fishing section of the shop.
Most people will use 50lb braid as the shockleader to protect the 20/30lb braid commonly used for spodding. Adding a leader to it is just adding a potential problem without solving any imo

Good idea that! I recently combined marker and spod and found it a ballache to undo the loop each time.

just use 50lb braid straight through.
I never use a large spomb always a midi as i think it casts better and longer, as long as you feather your cast properly you should be fine.
loop to loop all the way. saves messing about with 2 rods.

Might be obvious and I'm sure plenty of others do it but I see plenty who don't, I look for the longer or possibly longest spot in the swim first searching out all the swim then the next and then possibly the shortest putting all the spots in the clip in that order then when you've baited the shortest spot and you've checked the wraps go back round the sticks to check the distance for the second one and repeat for the longest one note all the wraps down and then once all the baiting is out the way in one disturbance a quick wrap up with the fighting irons to the wraps and out they all go, just the way I prefer to do it, I very very rarely get a marker float out these days, just a quick lead around until i'm happy.

Why would you use a leader with 50lb braid? Especially one that is of a far lower breaking strain? That arse about face for starters

Because the material of the leader ensures the marker float doesn't get tangled as it would do going straight through.

Thanks Andy. I ended up chopping the leader at the Swivel and then tying on the spomb which took seconds.
