Having re spooled yesterday i thought id head over to the lake to bed in the line. I had one chuck with a 3oz lead and realized the line was slightly twisted so put on a 70gram spin doctor. Next chuck as i loaded the rod the handle literally folded in half, luckily as the rod decompressed the lead went in the right direction, out to the lake. The bloke in the swim next to me saw it all 
I've used these rods on 4 separate occasions since buying them in May/June.
Has anyone else had this happen with Dwarf shrink rods?
i spoke with Nash but they weren't too interested and just told me to contact the shop i bought it from. Seems strange to me because it is, in my opinion, clearly a manufacturer defect.
anyway I've contacted the shop who were very helpful (thank you Tackle Warehouse Crawley).

no mate. but ive had both tips break in the same place with original dwarf then a ES version a year or two later.
absolute junk. and NASH know it.

The line twist wasn't too bad but i wanted it to be perfectly limp hence the spin doctor. On my large reels i use shimano technium black which is 100% perfect. Ideally i would've re spooled with that but i only had 100m left so i went with the technium invisitec which, as i found out at the beginning of the year, is a bit more difficult.

Not good is it.
That said returning it to the retailer is absolutely the right thing to do. It is not an issue in the first instance for Nash.

Had dwarfs, snapped the tip on a cast a few years back. Bought xtractors now and they're a much nicer rod.

That does sound unusual as the breaks you hear about with the Nash retractable rods normally happen at the tip end.
However saying that it was probably one of those very unusual defects that can happen during the manufacturing process, considering the rod is quite new. And i suspect it probably started as a hairline crack.
Carbon Fibre is quite weak at maintaining it's structure when it has been even slightly compromised, i have had similar happen a couple of times with carbon fibre pole sections.
The hairline crack is not immediately detectable but the section will snap and hinge over like a weak twig when put under load.
Just bad luck, sounds like the seller will look after you.

Nash are not interested because they get so many complaints about there tackle the amount of people on here and at the bank say there rods broke it's all cheaply made gear get it fixed sell it have a look xtractors
