Could anyone tell me the distance to the Central island.. is it catapult distance for baiting or throwing stick?

A catapult is fine , if fished it last Sunday with my grandson, take some form of hardened baits as the crayfish striped by baits every time

Thanks dave. Are the crays really that bad in there? Only booked on for an easy session for my girlfriend to get to grips with her new gear... she will **** kittens if she sees one of those! I was going to just tackle her up with a naked chod..... but I've never had ro deal with crays before. Can I ask how you coped with them?

There is no island on Lodge Pool it is a peninsular so you can walk round to bait up.
Crays are a pain, just re-bait every couple of hours.

Hard hook baits do the trick now, it's much better now than it was a couple of years ago. You used to have to coat hard hookbaits with Fox armamesh and tights, and the little parasites still got through to your bait!! So now not too bad!!
