Rolled my first batch of Polaris pop-ups and have been drying them for a couple of days before freezing, but they are still quite soft inside. I boiled them for 2.5 minutes and the outside is firm, but not hard, with a softer inside.
Ideally need them a bit firmer, any thoughts? Should I have boiled them for a bit longer? Don't want to boil the life out of them though.

for each 1 egg add 1 sachet of dr.oetker egg white powder. you can get this from most supermarkets. it will not really affect the buoyancy but will greatly firm up the finished baits. I would also recommend drying the finished baits for a week or more and then there is no need to freeze , just put them in a tub and they will be fine.

As others said ditch that mix and buy a good one. Also, don't boil them, very gently simmer them. Pop up mixes don't boil well

I've used most of the commercially available mixes with varying degrees of success. The Shilhams chod bouyancy mix is by far the best I have used. Plus it comes already coloured so no need to faff about with horrible concentrated powder colourings
