Apologies in advance if this is a daft question...
I am struggling to understand which is the smallest Tempest? I don't want vents, i'd like light as possible and i'm not fussed about aquatex.
Seems like it is the current Tempest Brolly V2, is that right? The depth on the Tempest Advanced brolly appears to be 10cm less, however it has vents.
I've always thought they look massive (i have a compact bed, and only take a TA rucksack, bait bucket, TA cool bag and a water butt. Would be handy to stick the rod sleeve inside if its raining but thats about it.
the speed of erection (steady), free standing and solid without storm rods really appeals..... though still worried they are too big for my needs.
Anyone in a similar situation and can shed any light on it before i try to find somewhere to look in person?

Yes it's the V2 brolly and I agree it's still pretty big. I've had a few brollies and the V2 is by far the biggest. Still packs down small enough and is pretty light. Decent mate.

Tempest advanced brolly is smaller than the V2 Brolly I have had both and the mozzi mesh off the V2 doesn't fit the advanced its too big.

The V2 Brolly is 125H x 230D x 250W cm.
The Advanced is 125H x 220D x 250W cm.

Yep, i did see that, unfortunately an extra 3 kg for vents (which i will never use) isnt particularly appealing. good to know though!

It does seem to be that way. its a shame they have put so much emphasis on widening the range on the bigger end, without considering a smaller option. a Tempest 75 brolly would be nice! No vents, smaller footprint, a bit lighter but goes up quicker than a brolly and overs the stability of a tempest.
I've got a low pro, though have got and been using an aqua fast and light, which although a very good brolly, i'd rather an something you dont have to use storm rods on.

Its strange how there identical width and height yet the fronts don't fit each other the opening of the V2 must be slightly larger I think. They are noticeably heavier though having gone from a V2 to an advanced.

I also have a Lo Pro and use that for most of my fishing. I got the V2 specifically for one reservoir where the mahoosive winds just want to eat the Lo Pro alive.
I do rate it though, it's good

hmmm..... if i cna find a new one to look at i might take a punt on a second hand V2 and off load the F&L.
use the V2 if i need something sturdier and to give me more space in the winter.

You could pick up a V1 for next to nothing and they're even lighter

My v1 weighs in at 4.2 kg after I cut out the mud skirt and front wing bits.
I did try a low pro a while back but found it a bit small for my standard Bedchair and a bit too much messing about to set up compared to the Tempest. Luckily I was able to get a full refund.
I very rarely use pegs with my tempest.

I've just bought a Tempest 100T, having fished for years under a mk1 trakker 60”.
First thoughts are what an awesome bit of kit, goes up mega quick and is rock solid- only downside is the weight of it, but that's fine on a barrow.
For 10cm difference, may just be worth getting the tempest Brolly?
