Hi all, looking for a decent venue in the north of France either close to Calais or Caen/Cherbourg. Furthest about 3 hours drive. Max 8 anglers.

I went to China lakes in Brittany last year. The place was in the middle of an ownership swap. I believe another English guy has bought it but I'm not sure if it has reopened. It's about 90 minutes from Roscoff ferry port. We sailed from Plymouth.
Perfect for 8 anglers. Fish to 72lb. I was fortunate enough to bag this fish with 22 others, most over 35lb.
They are by far the hardest fighting carp I have caught in over 40 years fishing.

Hi, had a look at China lakes. Looks great, but no shelf life boilies and no freezer to put frozen boilies in for the week which pretty much rules it out. Thanks for the reply.

I took 35kg of freezer bait mate. 10kg I thawed and chopped prior to setting off, a 5kg bag thawed for freebies ready for day one and the rest was frozen in a insulated bag. It all kept fine. Most went in chopped with plenty of liquid. No problem.

Blues lake in Belgium looks good. Bit of a waiting list though as its popular.
25 mins away if you cross from Hull to Bruges/Zebrugge.

Not looked at this lake. We usually fish at The Sanctuary in Bourges, but it's a 5 and half hour drive. Excellent place, but just now a little bit too far. We want a similar experience, with decent carp caught for end of July time.
