As anyone fished Osiers Lake in Newlands Hall. I have been there once and was after some tips. The lake has a lot of weed; I found it difficult to find any real clear areas. I tried a helicopter rig with a pop up on 1 rod and the same set up with a Wafter. Needless to say I blanked; but it is a learning curve for a new lake.

fished it good couple of years ago , chods and on top(weather dependant) seemed to work the best over there mate. they seem to be very spooky carp over there so alarms on silent , tread carefully and rods back from the water.
from talking to the bailiff , number of anglers fishing have dropped which means the bait going in has dropped also. (this was years ago tho)
some lovely dark fish in there to be had for sure.

Fished it with a few friends a few years back. Had a great time. Fished a small hole in the weed down the far end, filled it in with bait and caught 10 fish over the weekend. Hemp, pellet, corn and loads of boilies. Had one off the top too, very hungry good looking fish, lovely little lake and good for a social.
If you look hard enough, you'll find the clear areas, try putting a zip lead on, so little to no weed will cling to it, and just lift it up and feel it down through the swim with each cast. By the time

went to newlands at the beginning of the lockdown easing to smash em up on one of the other lakes and every single swim was taken, so walked round Osiers
There wasn't a single other angler there and we didn't see anyone else all day. To be honest the place looked a bit abandoned and overgrown with branches and trees in the water, but now the lake has been open for a few months it may have improved

I agree the lack of anglers was a positive, but I only think it was empty because of the condition of the lake..
I certainly would not be going back in a hurry
