I'm looking at getting a new pod system, I'm aware that the Solar P1 is one of, if not the best pod on the market. However I'm not to fussed on the stainless "carpy" look. Solar also make another pod called the A1, it's made out of alu instead of steel. Other than material and colour is there a difference in the pod, like the ratchet system that allows you to adjust the legs, etc? Thanks in advance and tight lines 🎣🤘

Not seen the a1 in the flesh but It doesn't look like it has the ratchet on the legs, think they just extend.

I have the P1 pod, and I must say I do like it, although you will need to buy the Solar Buzzer bars, unless you can find the same diameter in another make.
My gripe with the buzz bars is they do not come with goalpost threads, as sometimes the ground is soft enough for sticks, and I use goalpost bars.
The weight of stainless works in a pods favour, more weight equals more stability. Aluminium, I would worry may be pulled over.
The P1 banksticks have a locking collar twist to release for lengthening or shortening, retwist back to lock again.
I already had some longer P1 banksticks so if I needed I could make the pod taller, raise the front or back.

legs are fixed rather than the ratchet as said below ,you adjust the height to suit using the banksick legs on the pod.

That's a shame, I really like the design of the P1 but don't like the stainless that much. I might have to get it, it's such a good pod 👌

Stainless, hard to break and lasts, you'll be able to have it for ages to get used to it without it failing

After buying the A1 and taking it back as I found it useless and quite “cheap”
For a £200 pod
It's super light,and just too high with no adjustment. I was quite disappointed with it tbh.
Ended up taking it back and getting the P1 worldwide pod and it's night and day-such a great pod with plenty of adjustment and can also add bits onto it-well worth the extra £100.
Take a look at the compact version there doing too-one if the goalposts is lower than the back so it makes it easier to get the rod tips down

I have the A1 pod and I think its a great bit of kit. Granted, I didn't pay £200 for it but it still feels class compared to alot of the £150+ plastic offerings you get. I don't like the stainless look and I certainly wasn't up for paying £400+ on a pod.

I've owned a solar ww and extension for some fifteen years superb bit of kit imho.
