I've never used a paste. Seen it advertised and wanted to ask how you use it?
Say it comes in freezer form, would you pull it out 24 hours before a session and then use it? And then how? Is it applied to the hook?! Wrapped around a boilie?! Used to cook with other baits?! What's the shelf life on it?
I bought some DNA paste although they clearly expect every person in the world knows what to do with it. Or, go on a carp forum and ask experienced monster catchers
How do you use it yourself?

Thanks Wayne
Like Wayne said wrap it round your lead, if your using a bottom bait you could wrap paste round that.

For real?! I thought it was being sarcastic
So it's more of an attractant than a bait? Sorry if I'm asking seemingly to you stupid questions.

Because the paste has not been boiled it will give off attractants.

You can use it as a hookbait, but it likely won't last that long. It will likely get nibbled away by silver fish, or soften and break away fairly quickly. But used in conjunction with a standard bait it can be a deadly addition

The paste you're referring to is essentially boilie mix that hasn't been boiled. Because it is soft and has no 'skin' the attractors can leach out a lot quicker and it slowly breaks down. Wrapping paste around a boilie is a great and underused tactic, when the paste breaks down you still have the confidence that the boilie is firm and on the rig

As for what everyone else has said. Being of a certain age/experience its sometimes hard to think its all not second nature. Pastes are more attractive as said before. You can get paste cages from the likes of Korum or you might prefer bait spiral as in match fishing or just wrap it around your boilie etc, the options are endless.
I quite like Enterprise Corn or Pellet skins on the hair with paste or pellet inside.

Thanks Vossy. Sometimes you just don't know what you dont know, so thanks for sharing your experiences.
I haven't seen nor heard of many carp anglers using paste even though it's readily available. Can't wait to get a pass out from the missus to try my s7 paste with the boilies and pellet to see how it combines and whether it produces any results.
