Could anyone give me an honest review on the mk2 safeliner please
I currently use stows but looking to update - the safeliner looks like a modern version
My fishing is both margin and distance -
Do I need to purchase the hockey sticks, safeliner and coloured insert
Together it's £40 per rod or can I use my stow hockey sticks
Also does the isotope from my stow fit the safeliner - if not that's another £10 per rod
Altogether it's now £50 per rod. Are they worth the money
I was not keen on the mk 1 as it did not seem heavy enough but the Mk 2 in stainless with the chain gives more weight

I have the Johnson Ross stows and prefer them to the safeliners.I had the mk2's but for some reason I just did not like them

I would have to say that no indicator on the market is worth £50 a rod. It's not like the safe liners even do anything special. Even the Delkim slimlites are ‘only' £35 with everything included. If I didn't have Delkim's I'd use something from Defiant MPS.

I agree... I had the Mk1 Safeliners and swopped over to JR Stows and much prefer them..

No the stows are a different size. The jag isotopes are supplied in a clear cylinder which is designed to drop into the safeliners. Korda design theirs for the stow shape.

That's a personal choice. I went from stows to safeliners and I much prefer the Jag. I'm not keen on the flimsy plastic of the stows or having to screw weights on. Plus I ended up having to change my stow heads as the line clips got loose and in windy conditions they fell off the line. But only you can decide if you think it's worth it

I wasn't very keen on the mk1 for anything other than margin slack lining. The mk2 is a much better, more versatile indicator

I'm a big Jag fan but could not get on with the Safeliners at all for anything other than bowstring tight or completely slack.... anything in-between was a pain in the arse!

What do you prefer about the stows? I've got a set as well as the safeliners and I can't really find anything I prefer about the stows, which I used happily for years before the safeliners.

I don't actually set mine up as they are designed. You are meant to cut the chain to length so they pull off the line on a take like a stow. I don't do that. I leave mine with the full chain length and use them more like a traditional bobbin. I find the metal chain and metal body are fine for semi slack lines and I only put the weights on when fishing tight lines.

Just prefer that I can use my own chains (mcf bike chains)the clips on the Johnson Ross stows is a carbon clip so never had the issue of the korda ones either.The J.R stows come with isotope already fitted and I just think for the money they look alot nicer.Jag are quality but for me the safeliner is very average,I think they could of done something a bit different.
