firstly I seem to always end up buying these reels back, but i think what makes me change my mind always is the clutch, I just dont have any confidence in it when setting it to allow a fish to take line on the fight. To me they are so unreactive when tightened up that I end up having to have the clutch loose to a point where spool is turning as your trying to gain line . I have owned shimanos and fox and the clutch on those is miles more responsive, especially the 12000xt mags I had. Now obviously with the fox reels you get less build quality and internals and shimano well, don't get me started on that hi speed drag nonsense and line going behind spool. There is no perfect reel but I feel its just the clutches performance when playing fish on the tournies that lets it down. Do carbon/ice washers make a difference? I found the carbon ones a bit gritty like when using before. OR is it the fact that the spool clicker is not in spool like the other brands...or maybe because it has 10 washers...I just want a tournie with a clutch i can rely on. Thanks guys

I agree my tourney clutch is all or nothing even after a service and carbon washes, would I change the reels would I hell.

Strange I find the tourney clutch Is the one I have most faith in. And really puts the play in playing a fish.
