I recently purchased a Shimano Aerlex XTB spod reel and i am having an issue with the handle not folding when packing away

Just like any other reel i have had before, i just unscrew until you can fold it inwards, then move into place and tighten it back up.. but when i tighten it up it just falls back into the normal position and i cannot get it to stay there.

I have this rod strapped onto my rod bag and the handle flapping around is a nightmare when trying to get it in and out of the car

Any suggestions?

It's normal,🙄. I just use an elastic band to hold it against the reel and stop it from flopping about.
