I'm currently using a old ridge monkey bivvy light on a tripod for my night shots but I just ain't getting good pictures using it, I'm looking at a couple different options to get better lighting for my night time photos. The camera I use is just a iPhone 11 Pro Max the photos are amazing and very good just the lighting isn't anyone got any recommendations?
I'm looking at either a rhino light or the trakker nite lite floodlight 470/1280
Only thing I will say is I want it to be waterproof

apparently ??? these are the same without the badge and carp tax worth checking out

PS I was told by a Pro to have the light slightly obove you and pointing down to stop shadows and give the best lighting

I haven't used one but there's a company called godox who make some very good flashes, and they do two that work with phones. One just works with the phone for around £30, the other at around £70 can be used with the phone and will also control other compatible flashes.
Check reviews on them but possibly an option, also check compatability with your phone

Have a look on eBay for “selfie fish” it's a buzz bar with a mobile attachment and a separate light unit that has its own battery, is really bright on the top setting, £25 for the whole lot, I will utilise the light for my DSLR shots also, but sometimes just use the phone when travelling super light... Well impressed with this light unit....

Personally I think you get far better shots with a flash than these permantly on lights like the Rhino or similar.
I use a dslr and have played around with these lights but always go back to the flash for my night shots. Just need to play around with the positioning of the flash and if you can afford two. The skys the limit on quality.

I would agree that a light is no where near as good as a flash.
I bought one of those rhino lights after getting a dslr but to be honest it never gets used for photography.
If using artificial light you really need to use more than one to avoid shadows.
But then again it all comes down to the fact that most phone cameras are not as good for night photography as a decent camera will be, probably due to sensor size.

I use both. Flash on camera and rhino. Rhino also helps illuminate swim so can see what your doing without wearing a head torch

i can recommend the rhino, it's very useful after dark, it lights up the area so you can see what you're doing when it comes to unhooking and weighing as well as helping with the photo's, it's certainly improved my 'after dark' pics

Down load Camera Plus for your IPhone it's far superior to the IPhone Camera app for night shots. I don't use any additional lighting.

Yes that's the correct one, an updated version to mine by the same company of course. £4.99.
When I finally update my phone I'll download the version 2.
I've had various updates with it since I purchased it several years ago and it has a variable count down from 30, 15 and 5 all have vocal count down from 5 seconds and works with a blue tooth shutter remote purchased separately for £3
Just noticed mine now has a smile capture setting. The newer version may also have an audio capture setting.
When I finally update my phone I'll download the version 2.
