Do you think 2600 daiwa are to big for 6 ft rods what reels do you use on 6fts

I had some 2600 on my 9fts and then changed them to 25a emblem br, thought they were too small for the 9ft, perfect for 6ft I'd say.

Although personally I'd never get a 6ft rod, they seem to be used in close quarters hit and hold fishing, so you'll actually be putting the reel through a lot of stress. For that reason, I wouldn't worry too much about a balanced set-up, but would get a fairly robust, proven reel, exactly like the SS2600.

agreed. also go any smaller and the small spools will struggle with the lines needed for fishing around snags etc

This is a good point that people don't often think of with all the talk of balance. I'd rather a heavier reel with a spool big enough for .40 line to behave on. Like you say, you're probably only to be flicking it out near the edge where snags are more likely on most waters I fish.
