I know it's been done to death with regarding the helium 3.8 and and Andes mattresses but I'm struggling to come to terms with the fact they are only 55cm wide. I've got a basic sim that's now not holding air after a couple of years and thats around 70cm wide which on my wide bedchair is spot on.
Am I resigned to paying 70 odd quid for a thermarest xl? Or is there a better option given my width requirement and being 6 foot 3 tall?

The mountain equipment glacier 5.0 is the next size up to the helium 3.8 and thats 70cm wide and quite a bit thick than the helium. Think there about £65.

Iv lost a couple of stone I was a 50 inch chest XXXL size now im a XXL
and my helium is perfectly wide enough it fits inside the raised boarder on my ELS and wychwood compact beds without moving to me its the perfect size and so long as its left to self inflate as per the instructions its total comfort

I'm only a medium but also only use the narrow one on my standard Cyprinus bed, as Gerry says, it sits nicely in between the raised edges. After all, you only really lay down the middle anyway.

Get a Thermarest as they are the best. Had one for over 25 years and still going strong. It's been around the world with me, from the Hymalayas to Fiji and all in between.
I wanted a new one that fitted a Fox bedchair. Found a Vango one which was the perfect size for a Flatliter - nigh on exact same measurements as the bedchair - unfortunately the first one went belly up on the valve, as did the second one. Think you can get them for 65 sheets, though if I was going to get another one I'd get a Thermarest as they last.

I've been using the Trakker version, which is a little wider than the Helium. You can pick them up for around £30, so we'll worth the money, even if it only lasts a season.
