Has anyone any experience with any of the NGT rod pods or maybe suggest any other cheap pods for now and then use please? My normal go to set up is with separate bank sticks but as you know this is not always possible, especially now on a local club water I've joined to teach my youngest son how to fish. The ground is hard or mostly on wooden platforms so looking for a pod to make life easier.

I have a TFG Banshee pod. It looks remarkably similar to the Sonik SKS Black rod pod but much cheaper and works well on a variety of surfaces.

On platforms I use my bank sticks with buzz bars just off the edge. I then sit beside them and have plenty of room on the platform.
I have a spike with a T handle to make a leading hole for the bank sticks but you probably could use an old large screwdriver to do the same.
Never had a problem getting my bank sticks in doing it this way but perhaps it might not work for you if your ground is too rocky
Haven't used my pod for several years now especially as I don't trust it to stay on the bank without tying it down so the above works best for me.

Yeah i think the TFG banshee, Saber Low Pro and Sonik SKS pods are all prety much the same item just rebranded.
Around £30-£40 new, don't expect a pod at this price point to last a lifetime but realistically it's probably good enough for what you want.
If you can find a second hand one will probably be around £15-£20.

ive got the profiler very sturdy would recomend

It is what it is to be fair, if you're fishing soft grassy banks and you can get the sticks in a couple of inches then it's fine, other than that its no very well made and will start to p#£& you off after a few sessions, or mine did😁
