Hi all Im after some assistance as I'm unsure what shamano technium I have and imaware there has been uk and euro versions but Ive had this stored away for ages so im hoping someone can help me. think I brought it after a heads up clearance offer from here many moons ago.
Its in a clear plastic case with Shimano technium - high durability triple construction made in Japan 15lb 790m 864 y
Im keen to understand what diameter that would equate too as I want to spool up a good casting mono so wondered if this will be up to the job

If casting is your priority I wouldn't opt for Technium. It's got a lot going for it but it will restrict distance imo. I always opt for proclear if looking for distance.

Thanks for the feedback Ive actually traced the diameter since postingI have
15lb: Diameter 0.380mm | Spool 790m
Prob not ideal Ive used tiger line and x line almost exclusively for the last 4/5 years but looking for a mono to put on my spare spools so was going to use this ill be fishing 110-130 yards so wondered if it will do the job or there will be something better out there

I'm not a great caster but could hit than distance with 12lb Proclear.
Reckon I'd probably struggle in wind with my 12lb Technium.

Where are people getting pro clear from these days then... I struggled to locate any last year 😂.. Used to love Shimano catana, best mono ever made imo.. That got discontinued 🤷🏻♂️, now pro clear the other mono I loved for billy big chucks is also going that way by the look of it.. Neither of these seem to be re branded either... Currently on braid, but I'd have no idea what mono to opt for now that's actually available 😂😂
