I am looking at switching my rods set up over from 12ft to 10ft for various reasons. Mainly because of storage, transit and restrictive swims at my new club lake as well as currently owning 2 reels that i cannot find for sale anywhere to add a third.

For spod/marker set up I think I am going to go for the Tackle Box Darent Valley S+M, but not sure if a big pit will feel a bit odd on a 10ft rod? any suggestions from people who use or have used a 10ft spod rod would be great

I have the Shimano ultegra spod XTD reel on my 10ft tackle box CFX BLACK S+M rod and fills fine

I have the Darent 10ft SMD rod too.

It's paired with a 4000 size Daiwa GS and the balance and feel is spot on.

Think a big pit may be overkill?

It's a great spod / marker rod for the money 👍

Wychwood Riot Utility. Only had it a few weeks but the initial impression is that it casts as good as my 12 footer with mini / midi spombs.

I've just ordered the Wychwood Riot Utility 10ft.

I was gonna get the Sonik Xtractor to match the rods but didn't fancy a spod with a retractable butt section
