Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help me out in finding somewhere new to fish as I am struggling finding somewhere that fits the bill.
Having fished around the Lee valley for a number of years I've finally had enough of dealing with the public in the park and am wanting to get on somewhere private.
Now being a realist I appreciate I'm not going to be getting on anywhere this year and am likely looking at probably 2 years wait for anywhere decent.
Main criteria is,
Private from public, ideally fenced.
Not a hole in the ground.
Prefer somewhere 10 acres plus
Can actually get on the waiting list for a ticket.
Not have to pay to be on the waiting list or buy a winter ticket to have a chance of getting on.
Stock wise, good head of 20's, some 30's to go at and maybe a 40 to go at but not having a 40 to go at isn't the end of the world as long as the fish stocked are good lookers.
Budget wise, up to £700.
Within an hour of Harlow.

I'm looking for somewhere new - but also struggling to find something thats not going to need me to sell a kidney or spend years waiting for a place that never comes up.

Carthagena? Im from Harlow myself, would recommend the valley however obviously they are public access.

Carthagena is on the list.
I've fished around the Lee valley on and off over the last 15 years but I am honestly fed up with the public.
Filling a bag up with other peoples rubbish before you start fishing and constantly looking over your shoulder just isn't the one.
Waiting for people to vacate swims so you can fish them as they don't understand you pay to fish the place is another frustration.
Then there's the swimmers as well.
I fully appreciate the Angling team in the park does its best with the resources it has but need somewhere to get away from all the grief.
Will still likely keep the ticket I have as the water I fish always seems to draw me back.
Think I'm just a glutton for punishment.
