Has anyone used the Roughneck Ultimate Mortar Gun from toolstation for a sausage gun? I'm currently using the standard Gardner one. Will I gain any advantage using one of these over the standard Gardner one? Link below. Thanks.

I do and it does make a hell of a difference depending on the mix. A stiff mix is still a massive pain to extrude, but nowhere near as painful as the standard gun.

Literally took delivery of one this morning mate. Ain't got to use it just yet bit it seems up for the task and built very well
I am sure this is the one I used a few years back. Very similar to the Gardner gun that was 44 quid several years ago. I found it ok to use but only going 12 egg mixes at a time.

If your struggling with a stiffer mix, a company called 5mix do a 3 way nozzle adaptor which allows you to pump 3 sausages out at the same time making it easier for stiffer mixes and of course a hell of a lot faster.

For anyone looking at making their own bait without going down the electric or air powered gun route this gun is so much better than the standard gardner gun and only £26
Thanks once again guys.
Just came across this thread as I'm after a sausage gun, people that use the tool station one, what nozzles do you use with them and where do you get them? Also do you just keep trimming them down till you get the right size sausage? Thanks

Yes, in my experience it's trial and error. Different mixes tend to expand differently when extruded, so start too small, trim and test.
