Used to have it in both feet. Used to lie in bed thinking I'll have another minute then I'll get up as the pain was just excruciating to stand on. Never experienced pain like that. Injections feel like they've hit a bone and then they keep on pushing.

I have had a pain in my right foot for a few years now
I've had a bit of foot damage in the past, martial arts stuff, ligaments, broken toes etc. But this takes the biscuit so to speak. I've been to the docs many times and had Xrays, the job lot and it's still on going, not as bad as it was though
I get a pain behind the ball of my big toe and into my arch. Do you think this is it?
Anyway, I now work with a lad and he said that I had it. He had a carbon insole for 6 months and he is OK now. I went to the chiropodist and now have some carbon insoles, at a premium lol, seems a lot better, stopped wearing them after about 3 months. Funnily enough I felt a tweak yesterday

Plantar is mostly confined to the base of the heel. Push your thumb into the heel and you'll feel the pain.
If you find that it's unbearable upon putting weight on it after you've been sitting down then it's defo plantar. The pain eases after a few secs/mins and becomes bearable to walk on.
I had it in both heels. Had a cortisone injection in one and then sweated like a pig knowing the other one was to come.
Inserts help but a cortisone injection is the way to go.
I had it that bad that I'd literally cry in bed knowing what was to come when I got up as I had to crawl on my hands and knees and then gradually try to get to my feet.

Mmmmmm. That was a mate at work who told me it could be that. TBH the docs and hospital were rubbish, all sorts of theories and not one mentioned “turf toe” which i found during my own research and I believe I had / still symptoms of. Torn ligaments at the back of the big toe joint. I would have surgery today if I could!
Turf toe is a sprain to the metatarsophalangeal joint (MTP)—the largest joint in the big toe, which connects the first bone in the toe and the first long bone in the foot. When the MTP joint is injured or sprained, it can lead to varying degrees of pain, bruising, swelling, and sensitivity below the joint or at the ball of the foot.
The MTP and the other joint of the big toe, called the proximal interphalangeal joint (PIPJ), are supported and secured in place by the plantar complex, which consists of tissue, ligaments, a tendon, and small bones. Turf toe occurs when the big toe over-extends, injuring the soft tissue in the plantar complex.
The insoles made a big difference for me. Still not 100% though, possibly repetitive since it took me so long to get the insoles ffs!

Worth a check on Wikipedia mate and hope that you manage to get something done regards the pain as it's just nasty.
Thankfully the injection worked for me for a few years and had to have it done again but fortunately it's been pain free for around 15 years or so now.
There are side effects though which did settle down for me which included a burning sensation for a day or two.
Good luck if it is that as I feel your pain.

I've had a google mate, found a video, deffo turf toe
I think I have kept straining it
Gonna try the insoles again but I had my foot taped at the chiropodists and it says this is what I should do. Basically stop bending the toe upwards.
Apparently it's common in athletes so it kind of makes sense

Started to suffer from it not long after getting a dog and taking him for long walks, mostly wearing trainers. Even had a 'heel spur' where a lump protrudes. Started wearing proper walking shoe with an added gel insert and after a while, the pain and the spur disappeared.

Long may the pain free continue as it's such a terrible thing to suffer from as the pain is akin to walking on glass it's that acute.

Plantar is like having a piece of lego stuck to your heel, nightmare stuff.
I had the injection a few months ago and other than a few flashback stabbing pains and aches it's been mostly ok but its starting to become a dull ache again and im worried it is sneaking its way back into my life.
Hospital assessment next month (if it goes ahead) so will see how it goes.

It could well be creeping back in. Think I went around 2 years then had to have 1 of my feet injected again and touch wood some 20 or so years later it's behaved itself.

My Mrs had it a few years back in both feet. She had all the injections, but no luck! One of the doctors she saw, decided to treat it aggressively and put both her feet in plaster for a few weeks (I can't remember how many), and that cleared it right up. *Touches Wood* she has not had it since.

It didn't look fun. We went to Disney in Florida that year. We hired wheel chairs every day at the parks and I pushed her around. I think I actually lost weight that trip!
