Right, I've got gear all over my lounge... the missus is doing her nut I'm trying to sort it out so I'm taking the essentials.
I've sorted a medium holdall to leave in the car boot with extra bits in case I need them... I'm going for 2 nights on Thursday so need to make sure I have enough but seem to have loads of small tackle /bits bags and stuff like that.
I have an JRC XL holdall which has 6 decent pockets on the outside... I'm thinking I should try and get everything is that rather than taking lots of separate bags... I have a TA (Saber) rucksack but always find I can't get everything in that. I find that most of the gear stays untouched in the rucksack half the time if I blank (scales & camera kit etc).
I have to use a barrow anyway as it's a long way from the car park without one!
As always, bedchair, bivvy and unhooking mat + my 10ft cult tackle holdall take up most space!

I get everything I need in a TA rucksack and a TA food bag which I use for all my cooking gear. Food excluded, that goes in one of the green trakker cool boxes they used to do.
Bait in one bucket. Everything else is creature comforts camping stuff

I did 48hrs over the weekend and took.
x1 Aqua Small Carryall - all tackle, spods, alarms, coat, hats, electrical stuff.
x1 Aqua Small Carryall - all food and cooking stuff
Bedchair, aqua quiver inc Tempest, mat, bait bucket and 5l water bottle. Job done :-)
Leave spare clothes and bait in car.

Definitely a good exercise to do. Amazing how much excess stuff we accumulate.

I take a Drennan specialist rucksack, whihc has a small cool bag in. if doing more than one night then i take a TA coolbag.
look at the amount of leads you take, how many spools of hooklink etc? some good advice on one of the above threads, if you dont use something in a session, put it in the car. if after a number of sessions you still havent used it, then leave it at home.
this is what i take (copied from about thread):
- Bed - JRC Xlite Levelbed, 6.5kg, pillow case (jacket goes into case when i go to bed for a pillow) ECWS sleeping bag system set up dependant on season
- three rods sleeve, marker rod and Fast and Light in bag (no front or groundsheet)
- rucksack
Drennan large specimen one (40 litres i think?).
side pocket: stove, inside kettle, inside small primus cooking pot, pot of teabags which goes inside cup, small pot of coffee, tea spoon and a spork.
other side pocket banksticks, 4 pegs in a bag, hookbaits (3 tubs - one has all food bait hookbaits, 18mm hard bottom baits, 14mm cork balls), two tubs of alternative popups, film canister with a handful of plastics.
central compartment - gas, buzz bars, camera and binoculars. Hoodie goes in there too.
front pocket has 6 leads in a small pouch, small ESP tackle pouch has 4 spools of hooklink, floss, small clam shell tackle box, small tube of chod sections, scissors/baiting needles etc, 4 packs of hooks and the two types of rigs i use curled up in old hook packets - just need to cut to length and steamed
top bit has battery pack, head torch, lighter, car keys, waller.
TA Coolbag - food/milk. ridgemoneky small and plastic plate in front pocket.
- bait bucket with 2-5kg boilies, catapult, spomb and marker float. kilo of pellets and a packet of solid bags.
- 3 litre water butt and unhooking mat.

i only fish days really and i take a snugpak exocet rucksack, aqua mat with banksticks, rods and net inside and a chair. Id just swap the chair for a bed chair with sleeping bag attached, and stick a brolly in my mat and a carrier bag full of food.
I just cannot be bothered with a mountain of tackle these days

I seem to have had my gear grow and reproduce again.
I had my gear down to rod holdall, bedchair, tackle box, unhooking mat and then rucksack. The rucksack holds scales, clothes, stove and gas, food, water and bait, and the Chub beanie mat strapped to the rucksack.
I could carry that in one trip, enough food, bait to last a few days.
Taking the dog with me though I end up with another bucket of her food, bowl and a larger 10litre water container as I would rather she didn't drink water from the lake. I also added a cradle mat as well so it is now a barrow job.
