Anyone got any suggestions for pre baiting spots?
At the moment I'm using a small particle mix hemp mazie ect, Thinking if I can pull in the bream and silvers first to get a few spots going then I can start putting in a nut mix later with boilies to isolate the carp.
So far don't seem to be having any luck. I know There's fish in the swim as I've had a couple out, but that was just casting a pop up at showing fish.

Never fished canals but fished rivers a lot in the past. Find somewhere the carp are comfortable and feeding, they don't always eat when they chill, put in whatever you can, bulk it out with cheap stuff like vitalin, pigeon mix, flaked maize and all the old odds and sods in your freezer. Introduce some big boilies and nuts if you think silvers are smashing you up.
There's no point smashing bait in where the carp aren't feeding or visiting, 90% of your success will be location.

Prebaiting is all about providing an area where carp can find bait regularly. So, make sure other fish don't feed on the bait easily. I would skip small particles and focus on bait that is accessible for carp. Most canals contain huge amount of nuisance species that will consule your bait before the carp arrive.

Have used Vitalin heavily in the past, on it's own for the first couple of weeks- let the bream/other small fish clear the spot for you.
Gradually introduce larger items depending on flow & hookbaits- have used pellet in the past but the Crays love them, maize also works well & our clawed friends don't seem to like it as much.
