Hi all, does anyone use or have a view on CV Bait & Tackle baits? I'm looking for an all year round bait to buy in bulk for a campaign, and their prices are pretty good.

Ive had a look at their website. Obviously i know you might be able to get a deal on it, but £7.80 per kilo for ten kilos doesnt seem an exactly stellar deal to me. Plenty of proven baits cheaper than that.
The ingredients list is a bit vague as well. Very generic terms like bird food, milk proteins or fishmeal.
I'd be interested to see the quality of it in the flesh as theres not that much on the website that would inspire me to try them.

CV Bait £79 quid PLUS delivery for 10kg
DNA £80 Delivered
Essential £90 Delivered
Jason Ryder A Bait £72 Delivered
ABS £83 Delivered
The point im making is why risk using a relatively unproven bait when all these other companies produce proven baits that have been catching fish for years and have been put together by someone that knows what they are doing?

Exactly and thats basing the prices on list price. Look at the show deals DNA were doing a while back, wasn't it six pound a kilo?
I know for sure that Whacker Catcher stuff can be brought cheaper than the listed web prices, and that Peach N Pepper and Spicey Krill has caught an absolute **** load of fish over the years. Ive never used it but I know a lot of good anglers that do, and they catch well on it and they ain't paying 7.80 a kilo.
It's a few years ago but I was only paying about six pound a kilo for Icelandic Red C&C and id put that up against any other fishmeal. I bet if you spoke to Jules you'd get it cheaper than 7.80 a kilo and that bait is an absolute proven fish catcher.
Look at Wraysbury baits. They use tweaked versions of some of the ABS mixes. That McNut is an absolute monster of a bait, they are doing it at £60 for 10 kilos. A chap i know does very very well from a few different valley waters and he swears by them and I wouldnt mind being a fish behind him.

Unfortunately Alan did pass away, yes. Whacker catcher was run by Alan and his brother Graham. Since Alans passing his son Luke, who now also runs Ecton has invested a lot of time and money into the business, they've moved premises and had a rebrand. The beauty of their baits is that you can have them tweeked to your own liking.

The base mixes have been developed for years by someone who first started making bait in the 90's and selling it on Horton and surrounding lakes in the valley so I think they know a it about making bait when there testing waters are Horton , wraysbury, few no publicity waters ex Boyer waters ,ba waters , not the cheapest now but they have caught a lot of big fish in the valley
