Hi all, looking for help I would like to catch a carp from a local river in Norfolk
I'm really looking for a bit of help in where to start and if any one can share some info
Ideally any sections that are known to produce? Not fussed about size of fish to start with,

There are carp in The Wensum from Hellesdon down to the junction with The Yare, but a lot of it is impossible or difficult to get to from New Mills Yard down to Cow Tower. Riverside in the summer is a 'mare with boaters visiting Norwich.
Dolphin Bridge and the back of Anglian Water had fish in.

Downstream from the Yare confluence to Postwick through Thorpe has some big fish around. I used to sit at Pike Square on Thorpe Island and watch them come in and out, but again with the housing estate I think you will find that difficult to get on to.

The access is Thunder Lane over the footbridge, or via an access point in Thorpe just past the cemetary. Griffin Lane down near the boatyards is a possibility or go to Woods End Bramerton.

It is hard work and the fish have plenty of river to swim in so finding them...

I used to live in Norwich, but I do know some areas have gone downhill in terms of safety.

There are nowhere near the amount of Carp in the city stretch as there used to be. Definitely some but our fury friend and a bloody seal have seriously dented the numbers. Think the stretch at Thorpe does a few, but people are understandably very secretive about what comes out

Seals used to come up regularly when I lived in Thorpe St. Andrew, almost every year.

I have seen a big common under The Compleat Angler within the last few years when I was having a drink with my daughter.
