Just wondering on what people's thoughts are? There seems to have been an increase on videos lately “outing” nice quiet waters. Certain company's think it's fine to turn up at quiet lakes and film launching drones and generally making it pretty obvious where the lake is. I guess most of the time this is done with the land owners permission but do the landowners really understand the consequences?
Extremely busy lakes and often “Anglers” trespassing on private property.
Often these lakes are closely guarded secrets and the quiet nature of these lakes is what makes them so special.
I have no issues with videos being filmed at popular day ticket lakes or accessible syndicates with waiting lists. But filming on quiet lakes must infuriate the current membership of said lake.?

Iv got tapes and tapes of footage of my old club water which I won't upload as it wouldn't be fair for current members. It would do my nut if I was on a lake your describing, no different to Hearn though on he Thames though. All the locals won't be happy id imagine

Everyone loves the films yet nobody wants them made on their water. Cant have it both ways imo. No one wants to watch them queuing up on linear. They have to film somewhere. I'd add that they rarely name the private waters, only the public ones, which are pretty easy to find out about if you do some homework anyway.

Yonny, it is bitter sweet isn't it.
Private or public venue. In this day and age, with bit of common sense, It is easy enough to film in a discreet manner that it is against a bland and common vegetation background/s with no obvious landmarks or features of the lake in a film to pick up on, if they try hard enough.
The individual, or the company, edit all that footage and have a choice to put it out on a public channel, or not.
They know the effect, the sheep will follow.
Personally I don't agree to blowing the cover on a previously quiet water, but it is happening more and more these days, is it to win 'carpy hipster' points for caning the water first ?
IMHO just no respect or common courtesy for current anglers/members enjoying the venue, and the looming circus that will follow this year, or next, after they have moved onto new venues.

I'm not sure I do love them to be honest the current crop seem to be covering all the same ground. Nothing new or innovative.

I Just like watching the occasional one, a good angler enjoying the great outdoors, in nice surroundings and catching nice, unnamed fish, size is irrelvant.
With no plugs, just doing it for the love of their hobby/sport ideally.

I used to be a member on a place that was quite tricky and it had regular members that fished it hard some sizeable fish in there too. It closes every year for a few months when the fish spawn. At this time the lease owner invites every Big name he can to come and fish. They have had 2 months of being left alone and a few weeks before it opens they let the names batter them for publicity you don't see the names fish it after that. On top of that a big % of the A team have been out before your ticket has even started.

The thing that bothers me are those who go about doing their thing on waters that they shouldn't be on, having their cover blown by others. Due to the rise in urban/naughty fishing being trendy, some feel the need to go one step further and document it for kudos. We all know it happens, plenty of us have done it, but I respect those who keep it quiet for their own personal enjoyment over those who do it for attention.
If you're silly enough to film two highly recognisable buildings of English heritage via a poxy drone, don't be surprised when you cop a bit of flack over it.

Ahhh yes the fishing of places that are not allowed or have no fishing on them. Then make a full on video of them and announce it to the world. I am sure the local anglers quietly going about there own thing are over the moon with that!! Fair enough if you are going to do it , but keep it to yourself for heavens sake. You've then got the 'high profile' angler that is an ambassador for an organisation set up to prevent poaching, that was caught poaching whilst in lockdown and moved on by the police and who's Sponsor has released a video that shows him poaching.
It's all about Internet points these days, nobody can keep their gob shut because they need people to know how 'cool' they are.

I don't think I would really mind if they fished it hard all season and put in the effort like every other bloke. But then again why would you when you can get a spot rocking for 2 months do a 3 night session and catch a seasons worth of carp. I seen a post somewhere about a angler being the best in the country at the minute He had spent 3 nights on a closed water hauling 40s. Never to be seen until that same period next year. I would rather earn my fish and do it the right way then turn up when it's been closed for months and clip up to the spots the owner has baited and catch. But every year it happens and it will continue to do so.

I think I might no what angler you're talking about. If so I remember seeing a video which he was in where his one tactic (spomb a tonne of bait and put 3 rods on it, sit and wait) wasn't working. Other guys int he video were changing things up and sneaking fish out but he just refused to do it. He openly admitted this is how I fish and if it doesn't work then there's nothing I can do about it
