I plan on fishing maize when we are allowed out again and have prepped a load in Maggi seasoning (an idea i got from here) and its tastes superb....
I read a haiths blog by ken townley that says you can put some uncooked maize in 'heavily flavoured' water in a pop up pot and it will be preserved for hookbaits? I wonder if i put some in a pot mixed 50/50 with the seasoning/water if you think that would preserve the maize? The seasoning is a sweet salty taste or would you recommend a higher concentration?
I plan to experiment but thought id ask on here to get some peoples opinions before doing so.

I can't comment on your specific mix, bulk maize freezes very well as for hookbaits, CSL is great to preserve hookbaits. I checked mine which are 9+ months old and I'd be very happy to use them.
I'm sure Ken will be advise on your mix.

Proper CSL will go off even quicker than the Maize itself mate
Best thing is just freeze Maize hookbaits and if you want to keep them fresh on the bank then soak them in glug (and I do mean DRENCH them)
With some things its best to just accept that they are desperate to go off - I mucked about with preserved baits in the past and made my own super sprays and tried putting Maize in all manner of coatings, but at the end of the day, fresh is best. I don't even go near shelf life boilies any more, just get your own freezer, use small good quality tupperwares, and keep little bits of this and that in there for single session use

I've got a hookbait pot full of picked out maize from a boil I did last year. I just added a load of salt and some vanilla flavour and I've had no problem. Worlds your oyster in flavours but the salt is a natural preservative.

Or glycerin will preserve it too with a bit of added flavour

Hi
Try a sugar cane mixer from your supermarket
Super sweet and will last for years NP. I've had tigers in glug potts for a couple of years NP.
