Picking up from the subsurface thread, I was surprised to see the prices. It felt like for years that the carp book collectible thing had died a bit. I know Micky grays and Dave lanes books are valuable but are any of the others?

It's funny isn't it, It all seemed to go downhill for a while and all the books were ten a penny! I always thought the freebird ones were the nicest

I have noticed a big upturn over the last couple of months. I've been outbid on a couple of books, which hasn't happened in ages!

I'd really like to add Dave lanes first book and lee jacksons but the money they make is a bit more than I'd like to pay. Remember letting Dave's first book go on eBay a couple of years back as it went over 15 quid, but of a facepalm moment looking back at it.

Waiting for waddle, probably being the most sort after book of them all,, recently saw one for sale with a slightly damaged corner at £250..+

Hindsight eh. You can still get Dave lanes big carp legends for not a lot of money though. Those books are decent value on eBay it seems, I've just been looking through

I had 2 off them, sold one on here years ago for 100. one I have left my daughters can flog when I croak it with the rest of my fishing bookcase..waiting for waddle must be the most boring read out of the lot off them also, god knows why it fetches so much..

There's a copy of carp life by Mike Willmott on eBay at the moment that I'm watching, I know they have sold for a fair bit in the past. Hoping to get it for a reasonable price!

I have a number of the books that have been mentioned (Lee Jacksons, Pecks, First Micky Gray Book, Subsurface 1). Dip into all now and again and they are all a good read (even more so in this lockdown period).
Have to say that of them all Micky Gray's 'A Merry Olde Dance' is favourite but that seems to go for a lot these days. I paid £80 for a near mint one about 7 years ago which is the most I have ever spent on a book (including degree textbooks). Must have read it half a dozen times over the years and each and every time enjoyed it.
