Hearing loads about this place and watched some clips on YouTube and have to say it looks fantastic!

Been looking for a house next to the lake to rent for a week but I'm not paying £3,000 for a week, no matter how nice it may be.

Does anybody have any knowledge they're willing to share of any lake side houses that are not as expensive? The house needs to have access to the lake so I can fish close to the house.

Will try to talk the missus into going for a week in 2021/2022

I have a Hungarian lad who works for me and he is a keen angler as well.

He said that Balaton is like a cultural holiday spot in Hungary so its gets extremely busy and hence the lakeside house have extremely high prices, especially in the warmer months.

Have a look on air B&B instead of specific fishing sites and you may get cheaper.

When I'm allowed to cross boarders I'm defiantly having a crack. I'm only a few hours away so would like some info on bivvying up . Don't know if it's days only or you can spend a night on the bank. . Can't wait to get on some road trips

Hi Nick

£700 may sound great, but it's a bit of a specialist water, fishing style and rules. If you're going for the first time I would highly recommend using one of the guiding services, some of which also have their own lakeside accomodation, boats, bait etc and also help out with the non fishing stuff such as groceries etc.
Great venue worth doing properly, you'll learn a lot.
(FYI first time I went we booked a lakeside chalet in a non fishing zone)
Best

thanks for the reply Jon

I'm just simply not going to pay that much to go fishing for a week so perhaps I'll have to give it a re-think.

Many thanks

Nick
