I'm just getting back into carp fishing after 20 years, and I'm after a couple of rods for upto £150 each. Must not be plain looking. Must also be a good all rounder. I will pair them with my original Emblem Zs. Suggestions please? Thanks guys.

I bought a set of 3 Diawa DF Longbows in 2.75lb - great rods to start off with and spot on your budget.

DF Longbows are good for the money id go for a 3lb-3.5lb if fishing small waters.
I got the 3.75lb and they are nice rods

Have a look on a few selling sites (tackletrader etc) and see if there are a pair of Anglers Workshop 'Baby snipers' about.. Cast like 3lb+ rods but only pull 2.25tc under the tip. I had them coupled with my blue Emblem Z's for years. Great all round combo..

another for the DF longbows. i have the 3.5 version. absolute solid rod that will do you the business.

Another vote here. My Barbel rods are CTX Tamer rods and they look amazing (which wasn't the reason I bought them).
For my carp rods I prefer them to look plain as don't want them going walkies whilst I am asleep, I use Sonik Dominator X with cork handles.
Got mine from Johnson Ross and buying 2 got me 5% off.

Yeh i use my 3.75 on small waters with no problem. The longbows have a very good tip action for tc and i rarely bump fish even with smaller hooks. Id rather have a higher test curve so i dont have to buy a new set of rods cause i cant cast to where i want on bigger waters cause the rod is not up to it

What size of venue/s are you going to be fishing ?
Weedy or not ?
Size of fish likely to be caught.
Remember not to forget the joy of playing a fish, broomsticks not needed
For a players rod IMHO, If it isn't a big or long range type venue or weedy, I'd look at the Tackle Box Darent Valley 11ft 9ins 2.25lb Specialist Rod for £59.99 each.
