Hi Guys, does anyone have much info on Rowneys lake on the Wasing ticket, cant find much info on it.

Used to be the Pike lake and a working pit
Was extended to its current size in about 2005 ish
The Brimpton end is the shallower part was quite weedy
with a big out of bounds area
Stockwise a bit unknown think it has received a stocking of doubles from Cranwells and rumours of big fish
If you have the time worth a go as was not that busy
As people got the ticket to get on the Oxlease and Cranwells lake
That's what I know Carpman Chris will prob know a bit more 😉😉

The lake has a very large turnover of members, it seems between a quarter and a third drop their tickets each year. Ask yourself that if it was such a well run syndicate, would that happen?

It does seem to be very limited info on the Net about Rowneys .
Wassing's web site tells you almost nothing ,which makes you think they dont need members.

Thanks guys, there seems to bit a bit of funnyness around it for some reason, with size of fish and how its run. Some seem to think there's some massive ones in there that never get caught, like every other lake i suppose. looks a nice lake from google maps tho!

You'd couldn't be more wrong I'm afraid.
On the plus side, it really is a beautiful lake in lovely surroundings, and next to a pub!
On the minus side, there is a large area out of bounds, there were (not sure if this is the case) swims for bailiffs only.
Wasing will spin a lot of the stories to you about the stock. The vast majority of fish are double figured commons. There are rumours of an uncaught big fish, and def 1 big common over 40 exists (some say more, no pics appeared). There are some huge bream, could do a record in the future. Whilst it's 40 acres, anymore than about 8 on, and it's tight, the swims are compressed in areas.

Still think the out of bounds is out of bounds and the swim on cormorant point is bailiffs only.
The swims on the road side are closet together than others I agree 👍

Agree. I did consider Rowneys when looking at syndicates but opted for putting my name on the general syndicate instead, purely because I could not find enough information on Rowneys. Given all that is going on not sure if I will accept if offered at the moment anyway, think money and time is going to be tight so may stay closer to home but following thread with interest

Personally to ME , if a venue has out of bounds I lose interest almost immediately .
