Any Longbow X45 users on here? How does the 3.5lb version compare to The Infinity X45 in 3.25lb?

Longbow bends more through the butt ,infinity more faster taper but both are superb blanks ,for the money the longbow is very good.

Cheers . Are they a lightweight blank like the Infinity? They are about £100 cheaper per rod .

I always thought the longbows were the same blanks as the infinities but with cheaper fixtures and fittings. I could be wrong though.

Yes you are mistaken....infinity blank is different to longbow as stated infinity is more fast taper .

I have the longbow x45 tt corkhandle in 3.25tc. I'm not sure if these have a different blank as they are only available at TFT but I Find myself using these rods more than my others as I like how they cast and play fish

Yes feels just as light, same fittings except infinity has a anti frap tip ring and stainless collars and butt cap Like I said the longbow is a great blank and a better players rod but I do love my infinity's .

Looking at both now.. both in the 3.25tc range
TFT have the longbow x45 Alps on offer which seem good.

Having owned multiple sets of both I certainly feel that the 12ft 3.25lb Infinity is a very different beast to the 12ft 3.5lb Longbow. The longbows, as mentioned below, are a lot more bendy/ softer for the test curve. My last set of Longbows were the 12ft 3.75lb and although that sounds brutal they were lovely. That said the 12ft 3.25lb Infinity is my favourite rod of all time and would go with these, cost permitting, every time.
I see the DF Infinities have now changed so dont know what the new ones (with the matt blank and the ALPS reels seat) are like.

Cheers, I definitely prefer a softer rod as I previously owned freespirit es, which were like whips.
My current rods (free spirit ctx) on my new water feel too stiff as there's no weed or snags..
