hi folks , looking at getting some chesties from pro waders , are they easy to get on in a hurry when folded down, can,t be doing with dancing around rod in hand ( oooer

No mate, too floppy imo. Ocean or vass are easier to get on.

What's the general guide regarding sizing for chest waders?
Is it best to buy your normal boot size or is it advisable to go 1 or 2 sizes above so they are easy to slip on?

If your looking to get in a pair of waders in a hurry just get a pair of good quality fly fishing waders. They are breathable, very hard wearing and pack down to nothing. I sleep in mine all the time and never wake up sweating my nuts off. Saves all the hassle when the rod goes

Straps come loose as well. Not bad value but the black strap Vass are not much more Expensive but quite a lot better quality.

I would recommend your regular size. I have a set, like them the straps are a bit rubbish, I ended up being a knot to keep the adjustment right.

I have no trouble getting mine on,, they are folded down ready to step into. My mate has a vass 600 and we compared Them side by side and they were pretty much identical in quality and looks. You would suspect they are from the same factory they were that similar.
The straps come out of the buckles if you dont fit them In the correctl way .! Mine did for ages until I sussed them.
Don't think you can beat pros for quality v price.

If you are wearing waders a lot and in the proximity of deep water, especially moving water or in boats never mind about getting them on. Make damn sure you can kick them off easily. Loose is good and you aren't going to be running a 1500 m race

I've got a pair of pros waders, mine are size 11, I've not needed to use them much in the year I've had them but they're ok, decent price too

I have a set of Pros and a set of Vass 700s, the Pros (which I got first) have now been relegated to using in the garden pond and the Vass I use for fishing, go figure. The Vass are eaiser to get on when dancing around with a rod in your hand because the boot section is shorter (maybe mid-calf?) and easier to step into when folded down, the buckles are better quality as well, worth the extra pennies IMO
