A couple of times a year a few of us travel down south from the north for a session on a day ticket water. We usually go for 3-4 days arriving on a Sunday so we miss most of the weekend crowd. The past few times we have been down to Thorney Weir, this is an option again for next month when we go but what other options are out there?
As said we will be arriving on the Sunday and fishing until probably the Thursday so it shouldnt be too busy ( hopefully ).
We have had a few 30's in the past so would like the lake we choose to contain a few 30's.

Bluebell is nice (for a day ticket) and there are literally loads of big fish.
I fish there once or twice a year when my regular waters are closed and I always enjoy it.

Second bb. Sandmartin in there is well underrated . Swan and kingfisher hold the donkeys. And mallard is rammed with fish. All have crackers in there , plenty of stuff on you tube to feast your eyes on.

stanwick aint bad , just hasnt got the same stamp of fish as bluebell, fished there when the syndicate got a little tough for a bite. I quite like east delph for a social , well run , lovely place and some nice scaleys.

Just any more info regarding the stock of the lakes, average fish sizes, are all off the lakes difficult or are some easier than others?
it states on the website Mallard is a runs water , wouldn't really want to be travelling a few hours to go somewhere and just spend 4 days catching mid doubles if that makes sense..

Mallard is easiest but you defo stand the risk of being plagued by doubles. That said, there are multiple 40s in there. Too many small'n's imo. Good for a winter social.

If your traveling then you also can be in trouble if the lakes are busy , you could book Waterside Fishery heron lake ?

We will be arriving on a Sunday so hopefully should not have the problem of lakes being busy, very unlucky if we did!
