Hi, I still looking to fit a winch cam to my RT4.
I have 2 options,
1st is the independent Fish Eye Winch Cam .
2nd Is to send my boat back to Carplounge and get them to fit one there own cams.
Anyone got either cams fitted to there boats, and whats your opinion.

Thought the CL one just sits in the hopper , but you may need to run the power off the bait Screw plug if you have it fitted

You don't need to send your boat back to carplounge they send you a new battery lid and plug adapter so it's just connect and away you go .Go for the compact it sits nicely in the hopper and boat is much more stable

It does not attach to bait screw port. Has a separate power supply or CL do a replacement lid with power. Good bit of kit. I have 2 I use at my lake to monitor bait being eaten.

In what way is the carp lounge one better? It's quite a bit more than the fish eye one, and no better quality from what I've seen. I've got the fish eye and mate has the CL, no difference

Hi have the CL compact winchcam, as others have said you dont need to send your boat back, CL will send you a new battery cover that has battery connection and a cam connection at the other end. You can send the boat back if you would rather have a plug and play connection installed in the side of the hopper, this sway you plug the cam connection into the side of the boat.
The picture CL have on their web site is really clear, mine dont look that clear. If I rated the picture on CL website as 10/10 I would say mine would be a 6/10. I fish a silty lake mostly and the water is pretty clear, Ive had it down to 30 feet and can see the bottom clearly and can even see patches of watersnails and have seen a few carp swimming past. I mainly us it to look for clear spots present my rigs. I also like to use it for general exploration of the lake.
If I was you I would be going with the CL camera, I noticed the Fish Eye one is capable of depth of up to 20 feet, the CL one goes down to 65 feet.
I cant speak for the range on the Fish Eye one as they dont note it on their website but Cl one has a bidirectional range of 300 and 400 meters.
The Fish Eye one has bright white LED, the CL one has infrared.

carplounge used to use white led but changed to infered a few years ago.Only used the cl one and got told it was far superior to the fisheye so if this is not true i am certainly interested in hearing about it especially if someone has a seen a direct comparison not that i believe everything i read especially to do with baitboats these days .Lots of baitboat systems with gadgets coming out out at the moment that are absolute rubbish with loads of lies and fake reviews and even fake comments from brown nosers and friends of people selling them so beware

Any further thoughts on white LEDs Vs IR. Fisheye seem to offer a choice on the compact also a choice of field of view 120/160 degrees. Seems hard to find any info of the pro's/ cons.

Had c l both the full size origional one and the compact pro also the fisheye and stealth cam ultimate .The stealth ultimate is the best i have used and this seems to be the overall view from lots of users . Infered shows up better in lower light but its marginal and the led one better colour reproduction .One drawback i had with the cl one is the cable is a pain for getting jammed down the side of the spool but the camera itself is heavier and swings around a little less .Cant comment on the new cl one as not used it but the drum looks the same .Cant comment on the latest fisheye as i had the previous one and it was terrible you couldnt view your rig on the bottom seemed to wizz by even when calm .The origional stealth did a little bit but wasnt as bad . However thes tealth ultimate is much better for this . Customer service was good from both fisheye and stealth carplounge took a long time as i did have a few issues with my cams packing in from them
