Haven't read the full article yet but it seems that some fella is advocating sticking a hook in your face with a bait on and shaking your head about to test your hook for sharpness

Can't see what the issue is, I've been doing it for years

I can see it now, Vass waders, hoodie, beanie and hook in the face or ear with a bolie hung off it

I've heard it's much better to push the hook though your helmet, much more like a carps mouth is my tip
