So... I bought a cheap NGT XPR rod pod (JAG Super Compact rip-off) for my boy. I've cut the front bank sticks down as they were far too long and I've also shortened the rear buzzer bar as both bars were the same length. Finally put it all together today and found that the middle thread on the rear buzzer bar has not been cut... Obviously too late to return it now! 
What type of tap do I need to cut the thread, bearing in mind it's going to be fixed on the bar when I cut it? I know the size is 3/8 BSF, just not which type of tap to use. Any help would be much appreciated, I'm not giving up on it now!

Start with a taper Tap if you can just to get it started. Finish it with a bottoming tap , that way it will thread all the way to the bottom of the Blind hole.
