With public finances stretched as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, the TJN said it was time for the G20 to require the publication of the profits made by individual multinationals on a country-by-country basis, so that “corporate tax abusers and the jurisdictions that facilitate them can be identified and held to account”.

The report says the five jurisdictions most responsible for countries' tax losses were the Cayman Islands, a British overseas territory, responsible for 16.5% or more than $70bn of global tax losses; the UK (10%, $42bn); the Netherlands (8.5%, $36bn); Luxembourg (6.5%, $27bn) and the US (5.5%, $23bn).

Alex Cobham, the chief executive of the TJN, said: “A global tax system that loses over $427bn a year is not a broken system, it's a system programmed to fail. Under pressure from corporate giants and tax-haven powers like the Netherlands and the UK's network, our governments have programmed the global tax system to prioritise the desires of the wealthiest corporations and individuals over the needs of everybody else.

It's spending to much time in France over the last 10 years ,makes you more of an activist , they don't just roll over and take it , we are going to need to stand up for ourselves in the near future as corporate influence gains the upper hand , which is evident by the day !

I'm clock watching, couple of bottles of Stella in, some nice IPA, some of New Zealand's finest and picked a bottle of Tanquery Seville up yesterday, nice with lemonade lol, see how it goes. After that lot I could be hearing whale music

How long has this friends of government corruption been happening spanky?

See foreign aid is been cut. Currently we pay out around 0.7% of the budget. Germany 0.6% and France 0.4%, no surprise there!

Going to be reduced to 0.5%, small step forward but let's concentrate on getting our house in order

In the grand scheme of things though it's probably laughable when you look at all these big corporate tax fiddles ffs. I hope they are going to review this the useless ****s and take something off these to fund our nation and the NHS
